Exhibitions: Industry bodies

The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has announced dates for three industry forums.

The AEO Operations Forum: 21st Century Ops will be held at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium on 16 July and will outline the importance of major incident planning and sustainability.

The trade body's Marketing Forum, which will also be held at the stadium, will concentrate on digital marketing in the live marketing age and will take place on 27 June.

Finally, the Owner/Manager's Forum will focus on shaping small businesses. Venue and date are yet to be confirmed.

Events Industry Alliance chief executive Trevor Foley will embark on a global tour to promote the importance of placing live events at the heart of marketing strategies.

The Live Event Work Presentations tour kicks off on 12 March and will visit key associations such as UFI Middle East in Jordan and the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia in Melbourne. Other destinations include Dubai, Singapore and Gothenburg.

Eventia's summer networking event will take place from 6-8 July at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester. Delegates can travel to the event on board the chartered Eventia train from London Euston.

Agency buyers will be able to join Eventia's hosted buyer programme to qualify for free delegate registration.

Partridge Events managing director Jacqui Partridge has stepped down from her position as International Special Events Society (ISES) UK Chapter vice-president of events. Partridge said her reason for leaving was to invest more time in her business.

Ice Box managing director Philip Hughes has also stepped down as international affiliate chair at ISES.

Visit London and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games are creating a framework to ensure fair pricing and practice during the 2012 Olympics.

The London 2012 Business Events Fair Pricing and Practice Charter will aim to ensure that all business events taking place up to and during 2012 reflect the values and aspirations of the stakeholders, while also contributing to the overall legacy of the Games.
