The new office will serve as a strategic base from which Lightblue will develop new business, as well as a hub to support existing clients such as Gruppo Campari. The news comes as the agency celebrates an extension of its experiential work with the Italian drinks brand.
The UK expansion follows the opening of a Glasgow office in 2013. The agency is also based in Melbourne, Cape Town and Dubai, with the latter serving as its head office.
David Balfour, managing and creative partner at Lightblue, said: "Coming up with creative concepts and stunning design is what we do, but executing those ideas at consumer level in restricted markets like the Middle East requires a strategic way of thinking. That innate agency trait crosses borders and has achieved some fantastic results for us with our current UK-based clients.
"Our growth into other markets has been steady and while it is common for companies with large networks to move to places like Dubai from London, it is quite rare to see an independent outfit like ours move in the opposite direction. I think it shows our ambitious intent and it’s a move that we’re all very excited about."
