Ex-ITE chief hunts sponsors for luxury fairs at Blenheim

Former ITE Group non-executive chairman Lawrie Lewis is looking for sponsors for the first in a series of luxury goods exhibitions being staged under the relaunched Blenheim Exhibitions banner. The first event is a high-performance sports car show, Top Marques Monaco, which will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in the principality from 22-25 April. Confirmed exhibitors include Rolls Royce, Lotus, Bentley and Lamborghini. “The show was conceived to offer manufacturers the chance to showcase their vehicles to a target audience of local and international high earners and collectors,” said Lewis. “Special ‘by invitation only’ mornings will allow clients to invite potential buyers to their stands and in turn entertain them in a special VIP area.” Lewis’s second Blenheim exhibition will be a luxury wine fair with publisher Luca Maroni, also at the Grimaldi Forum, in February 2005. About 500 vintners will be invited to take stand space at the 4,000sqm show. “Maroni publishes Wines of the World, which is read by more than 30,000 producres globally,” Lewis continued. “We will stage competi- tions for the best grape.” Lewis and David Bagley, a former ITE divisional director, revived the Blenheim name seven years after Miller Freeman bought out what was at that time the world’s largest independent exhibition organiser.
