Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with Microsoft to thank the passengers onboard two of its Christmas flights, by enlisting a real-life Santa to visit the cabin.

Those travelling from Shanghai to London Heathrow and London Heathrow to San Francisco received reindeer antlers to wear onboard, and they were invited take part in a special Christmas-themed challenge during the flight.

Using a Microsoft tablet or smartphone, passengers were encouraged the find images of Santa's reindeer connected together, to help him save Christmas.

Santa eventually appeared onboard the aeroplanes as they traversed the globe, handing out Christmas gifts and vouchers to passengers.

The brand's #thankyoudeer activity was designed to thank its passengers for their custom, as they are the ones who make the magic happen each day.

Last year saw Virgin Atlantic deliver a similar stunt onboard a flight from London Heathrow to Boston, where Santa handed out a Windows tablet to each passenger courtesy of Microsoft.
