The event, which took place in Brick Lane in east London on 21 June, featured 65 actors, three vehicles and an abseiler, with the aim of showing what it means to be part 'of the Giffgaff'. The underlying message was to promote freedom, showcasing how Giffgaff is a no-contract network and highlighting what it means to be free from a mobile phone contract.
Members of the public were selected at random to take part and, based on their responses, were thrown into a dramatic sequence of events centred on 'becoming free', included abseiling-escaped convicts, getaway drivers and old school gangsters.
The stunt involved fast cars, motor-bikes and a legion of Roman Centurions and was devised together with Create London. Giffgaff has previously produced activations including a touring barber.
