BBC One Wales positioned a bus wrapped in a giant evidence bag within Cardiff's city centre on Monday (21 December), to promote the return of its crime drama, Hinterland.

Members of the BBC headed out into the city at 3am on the day to prepare the bus for the stunt. Despite having just three weeks to create the giant evidence bag, and facing a range of hurdles relating to matters such as location and breakages, the car was in place by 7am, when the city began to stir.

The activity alludes to the focus of the new series’ first episode, where the actual bus used in the stunt acts as the key crime scene.

Hinterland, which is set in Aberystwyth and stars Poldark’s Richard Harrington as DCI Mathias, will air on BBC One Wales in four parts from tonight (23 December).

BBC One unveiled a 12-metre long mural in London's Shoreditch last week, to mark the return of its crime drama series, Luther. The artwork was available to view until yesterday (22 December).
