Different tiers of membership range from £100 to £1,000 and all include package of complimentary drinks, discounted dining and complimentary venue hire with a minimum spend.
Each member must be approved by at least two board members. The inaugural board is chaired by Alan Newton of Grass Roots with Celia Sholtz of the Cavendish Group as vice chair. Other board members from the event industry include Nikki Mitchell of Destinations Unlimited, Peter Groom of Morgans Hotels and Eugénie Tham of Big Wednesday PR.
Tham told Event: "There was a members’ club back for the industry back in the day, but there isn’t anything like this now. It’s particularly important for younger members to have a place to network outside of events and exhibitions, and to have a home for the industry."
