Ice sculpture specialist, The Ice Box has been sculpting unusual products for more than ten years. This year has seen the team work on a number of high-profile projects.
During the 2004 European Championship finals in Portugal, The Ice Box was tasked with helping Momentum UK to promote the Nestea brand in the Mediterranean markets. It created 7 tonne giant ice cubes displaying the Nestea brand in locations where people gathered to watch games on large screens. Around 500 cans were frozen in the cubes and were consumed as they thawed.
In May last year, the company was asked to create a life size replica of the new Volkswagen Polo for its UK launch. With just 10 days notice, The Ice Box team produced the replica car which was then displayed outside the Saatchi Gallery in London. The piece generated coverage worth almost £300,000 in advertising spend.
Finally the team was asked by Diageo and Borkowski PR to create the largest ever ice cube in the UK to relaunch the Smirnoff Black Ice brand. 100 Smirnoff Black Ice bottles filled with money were frozen into the cube.
with a main cash prize of £50,000. Around 3,000 visitors came to the site.
