In 2003 the Department of Health (DH) proposed a national staff event for sharing best practice. Jack Morton Worldwide was brought on board to collaborate with the DH on a year-long programme aimed at accelerating change across the NHS.
Staff, patients and stakeholders in local NHS trusts needed to be engaged by the project. The communications event became the focal point for a year-long programme aimed at bringing together frontline staff and affording them the chance to interact with leading healthcare experts, senior policy makers and health ministers.
The event needed to encourage learning and recognise achievement through the Health & Social Care Awards. An exhibition strand featured contributions from the NHS Live sponsor partners, industry and stakeholders. A series of master classes under the guidance of Professor Sir Liam Donaldson, chief medical officer were supported by a plenary session.
The evening awards catered for 2,000 staff and patients who were given keypads to vote for the winners on the night.
Feedback found that 70% of the NHS organisations say that they are getting the benefit they anticipated from the event.
SILVER - Numico General Managers Meeting '05
For four days, 180 of Numico's top leaders were brought together with the goal of becoming a high-growth, high-margin, nutrition specialist.
MJM & Enterprise IG introduced a 'Chronicle' theme to inspire delegates.
The over-arching conference message was 'Creating a Legend' focusing on the current success alongside visions for the future.
The four-day event had four themes; water, fire, air and earth with management delegates costumed throughout. The set changed daily and the meetings were backed by themed dinners each night.
