The TicketQuarter box office will sell tickets for music, comedy, theatre, exhibitions and sport at regional venues like O2 Academy, Farmaggedon and Chester Racecourse, as well as the Echo Arena.
Echo Arena, part of ACC Liverpool, says it created the new service after an increase in demand on its box office. TicketQuarter is based in Merseytravel Travel Centre in Liverpool city centre and has a website and phone line for telephone bookings. It will be run by Echo Arena’s ticketing team.
Tim Banfield, commercial director of ACC Liverpool, told Event the new agency would complement other venues and events in the north west: "Echo Arena Liverpool hosts events between 2,500 and 11,000 capacity – the next biggest venue in Liverpool is 2,200 [capacity], therefore we don’t see the other venues we're are working with as direct competitors. Many of the acts that appear at these venues become arena-size acts.
"Event organisers are all in the same business of trying to promote events and sell tickets so if we can provide a service in which we use our strong customer service ethos, ticketing experience and from a source they can trust, then this will provide a joined-up approach, through TicketQuarter, in the marketplace."
