TV chefs aren't what they used to be. In the good old days they
used to teach you how to cook which meant that they didn't consider
themselves dish of the day.
Some might say that Jamie Oliver represents this new breed. The
fat-tongued mockney is about to embark on a world tour where he will
cook live on stage with recipes "perfect for family and friends".
The tour starts in Cambridge and London before moving on to Australia
and New Zealand. Diary will be sad to see him go - and even sadder to
see him return.
Incidentally, Diary's favourite TV cook is the late Fanny Craddock.
Especially as her muffins were divine.
