Football is about competing, it's about being at your best. It's about winning, it's about being at your sharpest and it's not for the faint-hearted.
That managers' mantra may be heard in dressing rooms up and down the land - interspersed with any number of four-letter words (especially in Sunderland) - but for those competing at this year's Mash Media Exhibition Industry Football Tournament on 17 May, it's more about having a laugh.
The event, second in importance only to the World Cup, will be played on the hallowed turf at Stamford Bridge, home of Premiership club Chelsea.
So there's a chance that some British talent will be on show for a change.
Plus, Diary reckons the standard of football will be better.
Last year's winners Tarsus will be back to defend their title. Others competing this year include Excel and Advanstar, but there are still places up for grabs. A total of 24 teams can compete with a squad of ten in each team. If you're interested contact Jonny Sullens on 020 8870 7071.
