Diary: Judi's talk show ...

National treasure Dame Judi Dench held a crowd of 1,700 people spellbound at last month's Festival of Literature that took place at Cheltenham Racecourse's new £15m auditorium The Centaur.

The Oscar-winning new president of the Cheltenham Arts Festival recounted "some of the humorous and terrifying experiences" of her career. Diary presumes the humorous tales included filming Mrs Brown opposite Billy Connelly and the terrifying experiences included playing celebrated author Iris Murdoch losing her mind in Iris. Then again it might have been the other way round.
