DIARY: Fanfare for the common spam ..

Not a week goes by without an awareness campaign for something or other going on and last month was the turn of that culinary favourite in the North, spam.

National Spam Week featured themed "Spam Glam Nights", which took place at universities up and down the country, while a "TV chef of the 1940s" Marguerite Pattern gave spam cooking demonstrations at London's Imperial War Museum. This reminds Diary of a good reason not to eat spam - it looks like mockney TV chef Jamie Oliver's fat tongue.

facts about the processed meat.

It is 65 years old, it started life in the US and the British Spam fan club has 2,000 members. They really should get out more.
