Diary: The corporate bladder ...

Diary hails the achievement of one of Britain's best athletes.

Sally Gunnell got through an after-dinner address at Manchester Conference Centre's Weston Restaurant on 7 April without stopping to urinate.

The speech was a precursor to the following day's Cystic Fibrosis Trust Medical Conference and despite the free-flowing wine and after-dinner coffee, Gunnell kept a call of nature at bay. The achievement ensured she kept her dignity and didn't have to apologise to the nation for any improper behaviour. If only other British athletes would follow her professional example.
