Dee in U-turn on Royal Horticultural Halls membership of EVA

Royal Horticultural Halls (RHH) managing director René Dee has back-pedalled on his decision to pull the London venue out of the Exhibition Venues Association (EVA).

Royal Horticultural Halls (RHH) managing director René Dee has back-pedalled on his decision to pull the London venue out of the Exhibition Venues Association (EVA). He had written to the organisation to withdraw RHH’s membership after resigning as EVA deputy chairman during a heated board meeting in October (Event, Nov/Dec). “I’ve given the matter further consideration and I’ve changed my mind,” said Dee. “EVA is still the main trade association for the industry and the RHH will remain a member.” RHH head of sales and marketing Maugie Lyons said: “The information shared among EVA members and initiatives such as the SEXI project on waste management are invaluable to our operations department. It is the trade association that we rely on.” Candidates for the vacant EVA deputy chairman post will be put forward at the association’s board meeting on 26 January.
