The artiste will perform a free concert for fans on the eve of the tournament (9 June, 2016) at Paris’s iconic green space Champ de Mars.
He will also play at the official opening ceremony at Stade de France near Paris before the first match on 10 June, 2016.
Guetta will be responsible for writing and producing the competition’s official song, as well as creating the music identity for the entire tournament, including in-stadia audio and global broadcast sequences.
Michel Platini, Uefa’s president, said: "We wanted to work with David Guetta because of his huge musical influence, not only in France but all over the world. Electronic dance music is synonymous with both France and David, and we want our music for the tournament to be enjoyed by both football and non-football fans alike.
"David is the very best artist to reflect the spirit of this tournament."
Guetta added: "It is incredibly exciting not only to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country, but to be working with Uefa on a number of activities for the fans that we have been developing together over the last 12 months.
"Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this Euro the biggest and most memorable yet."
