The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has been awarded the Charter Mark, a government award for excellence in public service and the Hospitality Assured Meetings Kitemark. The latter is promoted by trade bodies such as the Meeting Industry Association and is internationally recognised.
Staff and customers are interviewed and areas such as service standards, cost effectiveness and client satisfaction are scrutinised. Kitemark assessors focused on high occupancy levels, repeat bookings, client retention and flexible hands-on attitudes of staff.
Council leader Councillor Merrick Cockell said: 'Business today is more competitive than ever and success depends on the highest possible standards.
These have long been a Royal Borough priority and I am delighted that our services are receiving the public and private sector recognition they deserve.'
