The Games, to be held at the Echo Arena, will be the 17th of its kind.

The arena will also host the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas this month and a leg off the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) UK sojourn.

"We have worked hard to attract sporting events to the Echo Arena and the city, and are now seeing the fruits of our labour," said Echo Arena sports account manager John Moore. "We are very proud to be helping drive revenue to both the local community and, on a larger scale, to be helping the UK's sporting heritage in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics."
