Confex 2007 - Red Hot

Some of the debutants who will be on display in the Red Zone at International.

Freezing point Opened 18 months ago in the West End, Below Zero London brought a taste of Sweden to the capital with its ice bar. The venue also boasts three other event spaces - the Wolf Bar, Moose Dining Room and Reindeer Lounge. It has an in-house events team and caterer that can provide solutions for everything from parties to product launches.

Beauty spot Birtsmorton Court is a private medieval manor house with a moat, and will be revealing its full splendour in the Red Zone this year. Set against the Malvern Hills, the venue is surrounded by enchanting formal gardens and parkland. It has been available as a corporate party venue for the past two years and has hosted a string of events for a number of high-profile corporates.

Team player Cashing in on the popularity of last year's World Cup, Kick-it Events is bringing a football simulator to Confex. As a special treat, visitors to the stand can take part in a penalty shoot-out. The system uses state-of-the-art technology to deliver a mesmerising football experience. Ideal for events of different sizes, the cost of hire starts from £600 a day.

Stars of the screen One of Leicester Square's most iconic buildings is without doubt the Odeon Cinema, which over the years has been the host of many a glamorous and star-studded film premiere. Recently, however, Odeon Cinemas' venues have also been used to host events ranging from product launches to corporate parties for a range of high-profile companies from the media, finance and pharmaceutical sectors. Visitors to the stand at this year's International Confex will have an opportunity to talk to staff from the company and discover which facilities each of the group's 100 cinemas has to offer party planners.

Trustworthy At the start of last year the National Trust launched eight of its most prestigious venues as locations for corporate hospitality.

On its stand you will find representatives from each property who will discuss the facilities and capacities of the event spaces. Each venue provides its own historic backdrop for a wide range of corporate functions, ranging from large parties to intimate dinners.

Harbour ambition Taking to the high seas for an event is always guaranteed to add an extra element of excitement for your guests. BlueSpirit Yachting offers a number of creative event solutions that include Team Racing, where teams of up to 10 race against each other, and Cruising Days, which is a more leisurely event and incorporates lunch on the Isle of Wight.

There are also Spectator Days, which allow guests to watch Cowes Week from the decks of a 60ft classic wooden boat.

World leader Agency FCO Services, which is part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, has recently delivered a range of high-profile events including the G8 Summit, which saw heads of government congregate at Gleneagles in 2005 to discuss global issues. For an event of this magnitude FCO Services had to ensure that these VIP guests were looked after at every turn. Such experience means that the company has the ability to handle both large and small events, ranging from intimate dinners in lavish surroundings to large parties in venues that are not ordinarily available to other event management companies. This means it can offer exclusive access to venues such as the prestigious rooms of Lancaster House and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
