The deal, worth £34 million in revenue for the next decade, will see Compass operate the match day catering and hospitality through the club's 16 retail outlets, 31 corporate boxes and three suites. In addition it will provide sales, marketing, catering and hospitality for non-match day conferences and events held at the stadium and the on-site hotel. It is the first time the club has outsourced its catering offerings.
Sheffield United operations director said: "We were impressed by the sales processes that Compass had to offer us, as we felt that we had exhausted the local and regional markets and wanted to get more national business."
Compass Group UK & Ireland managig director Matthew Thompson said: "The catering and hospitality provision was previously operated in-house so we are very proud that Sheffield United has placed its trust in Compass for the next 10 years.
