Clarion Events has added a fourth Caravan show to its nationwide portfolio. The International Caravan and Motorhome Expo will occupy halls one to five at the Birmingham NEC from 17-22 October. The Midlands offer sits alongside the organiser’s Caravan and Motorhome Show that takes place at Manchester’s G-Mex from 19-22 January and the Scottish Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show, held at the SECC from 2-5 February. As a result of the launch, Clarion’s London version, the Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show, has been moved from its November Earls Court dates and will now take place from 4-7 January 2007. “The traditional pattern is for product launches to take place in the early autumn and for dealer-driven selling to take place in the new year from January to March. The Earls Court Show fits better with this pattern now that it has moved and, in conjunction with our Manchester and Scottish event, gives the caravan industry the complete yearly show cycle it needs,” said Clarion Events sales director Simon Coe. Meanwhile, Managed Events, the rebranded name for the NEC’s Centre Exhibitions show management arm, has added three shows to its portfolio. The team will manage Food & Bake, scheduled to take place from 19–22 March 2006, British Beauty from 2–3 April 2006, and OptraFair from 21–23 April 2007 for their respective organisers. Clarion completed a two-thirds majority share purchase of the NEC’s in-house organiser Centre Exhibitions in April last year.
