Somerset House has had strong interest from clients looking to book events at The Art of Chess exhibition next month. Five private receptions have been booked to take place among the 20 chess sets designed during the last century by artists such as Salvador Dali, Yoko Ono, Fabérge and Damien Hirst. The exhibition, set within the venue’s Gilbert Collection, opens on 28 June and runs until September. Somerset House head of events Charlotte Reeves said: “The Art of Chess can host drinks receptions for up to 350 guests or dining in the venue’s Silver Gallery for up to 100 people.”
