This year's Event Awards categories have been refined and tweaked to celebrate the 15th year of the industry's number one celebration.

For the first time, the Event Awards will be recognising the young talent working within the industry by including a Rising Star category, while Supplier of the Year has been divided into sub-categories to ensure everyone from crewing and staffing agencies to AV and furniture companies have an opportunity to celebrate their work.

Other changes include Caterer of the Year, which will see the shortlisted companies given the same two briefs that they will have to recreate in a live tasting environment, while the Green Award has become Sustainability Initiative of the Year so that agencies, suppliers and venues will have the opportunity to showcase the initiatives they have implemented to help create a more sustainable industry.

This year's Event Awards will see it celebrate 15 years and even more impressively it has its first headline sponsor in the form of Late Night London.

The cateogories are listed below and can be entered by heading to the Event Awards website.

  • Brand experience agency of the year
  • Exhibition organiser of the year
  • Creative event agency of the year
  • Teambuilding event of the year
  • Event industry supplier of the year - Split into four sub catergories: Production, AV, sound, lighting and technology; Crewing and construction; Security and staffing; Theming, furniture and dressing
  • Venue team team of the year
  • Event spaces of the year (non exhibition) - Small: under 300 capacity; Medium: 301-700 capacity; Large: 700+ capacity
  • Exhibition venue of the year
  • Caterer of the year
  • Act of the year
  • Best consumer exhibition
  • Best trade exhibition
  • Best brand experience event
  • Creative event of the year
  • Best international exhibition, brand experience or creative event
  • Best launch exhibition
  • Best outdoor event
  • Best brand activity at festival or public event
  • Best PR event or stunt
  • Exhibition feature area
  • Exhibition stand
  • Best conference of internal staff event
  • Best sustainable initiative
  • Rising Star

A breakdown of the criteria for each of the categories will be provided over the coming weeks, while the venue for this year's speical event will also be revealed soon.
