Centaur event offer in doubt as sale looms

Centaur Communications' event portfolio faces an uncertain future after a bid for the business-to-business publisher by Numis, a financial adviser. The deal is said to be worth up to £200m.

In a so-called accelerated initial public offering, Numis plans to float the company on completion of its acquisition, which was still awaiting shareholder approval as Event went to press.

Centaur's 34 exhibitions include The DM Show, In-store Design and Marketing Show, market research fair Insight and the Homebuilding & Renovating show. It also organises awards ceremonies and conferences.
