The new business, which launched this month, forms part of the Max Publishing Group. Murray will be the majority shareholder of the full-service event production agency.
Murray told Event she decided to set up the company so that she could explore a new direction. "I am well known for producing awards, but ultimately I want to branch out into other areas such as product launches and experiential marketing."
She added she will be working with freelancers on a project basis on a number of events this year, but will also be looking to recruit full-time permanent staff in the next 12 months.
Projects in the pipeline for Max Live Events include The Greats gift retailer awards at The Savoy on 8 May, as well as the 2014 Optician Awards at the London Hilton, Park Lane, on 12 April.
"I am excited to be launching this new company," Murray said. "The market is picking back up. In the last five years everything has been taken back to bare bones. Now there is a general feel that people want to add the whistles and bells on to their event."
Murray worked at Capitol House Productions since September 2004.
