The event, which runs between 29 to 31 July, boasts a range of cycling events, including Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle, which takes place on Saturday (30 July), with seven festival zones along the route. Buxton Water will be featured in the Green Park zone, one of the seven areas, with riders treated to some of the sights of the Peak District landscape.

Buxton is also hosting the international Urban Trials competition where stunt rider Andrei Burton and a team of world and UK extreme champions will undertake a series breath-taking challenges using the mini-Buxton town as obstacles and platforms.

The other zones will feature a raft of activities including a street velodrome, big screen entertainment, a Bling-Your-Bike zone, a Cycling Disability Bike Roadshow and Cycle Scalextrics.

Continental, Skoda, Virgin Money, Evans Cycles and Transport for London are some of the other brands set to activate at the PrudentialRideLondon , which kicks off on Friday, 29 July at the Lee Valley VeloPark in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Transport for London is touring the city this summer with an experiential roadshow encouraging the public to start cycling. It will run until the end of the month, culminating at the Prudential RideLondon Festival zone in Kingston on 31 July.

Earlier this year Buxton handed out free bottles of water to participants at the London Marathon from mile three.
