The show will take place at Excel from 30 June-1 July next year. The annual Association of Exhibition Organisers Excellence Awards will be staged on 2 July 2004 and Burton is lobbying for other exhibition initiatives and hospitality to be created at the start of the week.
"More than 100,000 companies exhibit every year in the UK and together with those companies who have considered exhibiting, they find the whole process confusing and daunting," said Burton. "The Exhibitor Show will help firms participate in shows more effectively and promote the industry as a whole."
Exhibitors at the show will include event management and production firms, staffing agencies, training and research outfits, and logistics firms.
An International Pavilion to help companies exhibit overseas and a Really Useful Pavilion for suppliers are being developed. A conference and seminar programme will run alongside the event.
Melville Exhibition Services, Nomadic Display, Opex Exhibition Services, Mayridge Group and TNT Showfreight have already booked space at the show.
The Association of Exhibition Organisers, the Audit Bureau of Circulations and The British Exhibition Contractors Association have all signalled their support.
