In brief: Call for business to rise to Olympic challenge

Visit London chief executive James Bidwell has called on business and government to rise to the challenge of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Speaking at the London Business Gears up for 2012 summit, held at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on 15 January, Bidwell said: "This is an unparalleled opportunity for London that starts now and continues until 2018 and beyond. The benefits will not come automatically and it's up to all of us to deliver them." Culture secretary Tessa Jowell and Mayor of London Ken Livingstone attended the event.
