Moriarty has been working as an independent brand and creative consultant since October, having spent more than 15 years at Fitch. He has had experience working on a range of branding projects, primarily in the automotive and transport sectors.

Most recently, he successfully led a creative pitch for Lexus' European refresh. He has also dealt with projects for Dunlop, Goodyear, Pirelli and Nissan.

The hire comes off the back of a number of new wins for the agency in 2015 - including BT, Sabre and MoneySuperMarket -  as well as a number of new design appointments that aimed to strengthen Brandfuel’s creative offering.

The company announced a 246% rise in profit before tax for the year ending May 2015 in October.

Sue Winckler, client services business devlopment director at BrandFuel, said: "Simon has a deep global perspective, a strong cross media creative background and a specific focus on brand experience. His role will cover strategic development, channel neutral concept creation and overseeing the delivery of creative excellence across all projects.

"This is a fantastic appointment for Brandfuel and we know Simon will be a great practitioner in realising and delivering inspiring ideas delivered beautifully."
