Brandfuel increases profit before tax by 246%

Agency Brandfuel has reported a profit before taxation of £1.91m for the year ending May 2015 - up 246% on its 2014 figure (£552,634).

The business turned over £17.4m across the year, which represented a 32% rise from £13.2m. Gross profit was also up from £2.67m to £4.68m.

While sales in the UK decreased from £5.04m to £4.74m, they were up from £4.10m to £4.86m in Europe. Income from the rest of the world stood at £7.82m - a rise of 93% from the previous year’s £4.05m.

The company also grew its number of full time staff from 32 to 37.

Brandfuel’s director’s report stated: "Brandfuel has enjoyed two successive years of significant growth in turnover. The ability to react quickly to clients’ requests and the strength of the UK economy have both been factors in explaining this increase in turnover.

"There has been a growth in branding and design work. The year to May 2016 is expected to be one of consolidation rather than growth, though the business is well-positioned to meet new opportunities as they arise." 

David Ball, founder and chief executive, said: "Our growth in terms of a great year is associated with new client acquisitions and growth in brand and design work for the creative team. Also, a strong focus on cutting costs or driving costs down from an operational point of view."
