Audio-visual supplier Blitz Communications has made 12 people redundant at its head office in London.

Audio-visual supplier Blitz Communications has made 12 people redundant at its head office in London. The announcement came as the company completed the fit-out of its new Birmingham office in a bid to compete against Avesco for NEC and other regional business estimated to be worth £7m. “We’ve been supplying the Midlands market from our London and Manchester offices and identified the need to deliver a specific operation to meet the growing demand,” Blitz managing director Michael Breen said. “The London outfit has suffered a loss of US client work and 12 members of staff chose not to re-deploy to Manchester or Birmingham.” Meanwhile, Blitz’s Manchester office reported its best ever October trading and Astonics, the graphics subsidiary bought last year, is continuing to prosper.
