BIMA sponsors Excite! keynote to show digital and live convergence

The British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) is sponsoring a keynote session at Excite! in a move that highlights the increasing relationship between digital and live activity.

The session, entitled "What's the Point of Twitter? Developing more integrated campaigns using social media" will take place at 11.30am on 24 June. It will be hosted by BIMA member Agency.com and BIMA head of information architecture Kai Turner.

"We are delighted to have both Kai and BIMA onboard. This session will truly reflect our long-held opinion that digital and live activity are natural bedfellows, complimenting each other to ensure successful and effective events in both the online and offline worlds," said Excite! show director Simon Burton.

Our association's role is to support individuals and organisations that deliver creative and innovative interactive media solutions so we understand the important role that live events play in the online world," said outgoing BIMA chairman Paul Walsh. "Agency.com was responsible for Mars brand Skittles using a live Twitter search feed as its website home page which is ahead of the game in terms of brand marketing initiatives."
