The event, which took place on Monday (2 October), allowed customers to explore Starbucks's new Teavana range, ten bold and brilliant hot brewed teas, including jasmine pearls, green, black and white teas, as well as three tea lattes.
A Starbucks tea expert was on hand to talk guests through the various trends around tea drinking in the UK, Starbucks' teas and also the brewing methods. The party included a GIF machine where guests could take fun photos and upload to social media as well as music from a DJ, with the party taking place across two slots, from 11am-1pm and again from 4pm-7pm.
Charlotta Oldham, Starbucks tea category manager, said: "We’re thrilled to expand our existing Teavana range and bring a new range of hot brewed teas for our customers to enjoy at Starbucks. We’re modernising the tea experience with both traditional and contemporary tea flavours. Our Teavana hot teas are all deliciously warming and comforting and are designed to suit many tastes. Whether at a Starbucks store, or in the comfort of your own home, we believe there’s nothing better than settling down with a great cup of tea – it gives you time to rest and unwind."
Starbucks is offering customers a free tea at its stores after 3pm tomorrow (6 October) to mark the launch.
Starbucks opened the doors to a multi-sensory café concept, Starbucks Reserve bar, in London's Covent Garden last year.
