Entertainment acts will be challenged to create a performance around an invented brief – a fashion house planning a vintage-style shoe launch for media and key customers. The Twin Swing, Zero Central, Beato Burrito, Andrei Isfan, Mow the Brass and Faye Treacy will all be competing.
The performers will then be judged by an industry panel, consisting of Sternberg Clarke’s director Adam Sternberg, Gaia Saccomanno from Wedgewood Travel, Event’s Katie Deighton and Andrew Birnie, events and sales director at Café de Paris.
The second heat of the competition will take place on 16 June at London samba club Guanabara.
The final two contenders will battle it out at Event and C&IT's award-winning Event 360, which is taking place at London’s Roundhouse on 23 June, while the winner will be invited to perform at the Event Awards later in the year.
Adam Sternberg, director of Sternberg Clarke, told Event: "We want to show that not only are there some fantastic new acts out there, but also that entertainment is not merely that ‘bit’ you have at the end of a gala dinner if your budget stretches. Rather, it can be a creative and memorable way of communicating messages about your brand, product or company."
Last October saw beat boxing and cappella act Beatvox take home the Beat the Brief crown, following a four-way contest at the Event Awards.
