Set to be a live extension of the film magazine brand, the event promises to bring together the film and entertainment industries from 23-25 September. Activity will include film programming, world premieres, exclusive screenings and a pop-up party.
AEG, owner of The O2, will host the event and lead on production and ticketing, while Empire will provide the content.
A representative from Bauer told Event it has a number of activation opportunities open to commercial partners, including sampling, programme sponsorship and experiential zones. The media company is also seeking a headline partner for the experience.
Terri White, editor-in-chief of Empire, said: "Our spectacular three-day event at The O2 will be the perfect showcase for all of our content. Our partnership with AEG demonstrates the unique opportunities we can offer commercial partners, as we continue to engage and entertain movie fans as a central part of everything that is great about film and entertainment."
Milly Olykan, director of festivals and events at The O2, added: "Empire Live promises to be a significant entertainment event for film fans and we’re thrilled to be working with Bauer Media and the Empire team. We know an event of this kind focusing on film and pop culture will be a real hit with our fans and the Empire audience too."
Empire canned its Empire Presents Big Screen event back in 2012, due to a need to "refashion" the show’s financial structure.
