‘A Beat for Peace' used the Nottingham-based African-Latino drumming collective to make a a noisy presence outside 10 Downing Street to mark its UK launch.
Around 200 people turned up to support the launch of the campaign in London on 9 January, with thousands more taking to the streets from Mexico to Ghana and from Egypt to Russia.
The launch of the campaign falls on the five-year anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, which ended a twenty two-year civil war between North and South Sudan.
There was a spike in violence in the south of Sudan in 2009, with 2,500 people killed and 350,000 displaced.
