Banks Sadler extends footprint with China office opening

Event management agency Banks Sadler will open a new office in Shanghai, China, later this year to help the company oversee account management and business development in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company is currently in the process of recruiting a country director for the new office. Lei Gu and Wei Limin, who begin an intensive training programme in the UK in the next few weeks, have been hired by Banks Sadler to look after the business development, venue finding and event management for the agency’s China offering.

Leigh Jagger, Bank Sadler’s group chief executive, said: "Banks Sadler saw the necessity for an on-the-ground team in Shanghai to service our existing clients and a growing portfolio of new business. We have listened to our clients who wanted us in the country to offer local assistance and to support our global contracts.

"This is another exciting chapter in the Banks Sadler story and we are looking forward to opening an office in the APAC region. Lei and Wei have tremendous amount of industry experience and more importantly knowledge of the region."

The opening of the Shanghai office is the latest step in Banks Sadler’s global expansion, with the company having six offices in five countries.
