Arup fun day brings 6,000 to Warwick

Warwick Castle shut its doors to the public on 15 September to host staff from design and architecture consultancy Arup and their guests - a total of 6,000 people.

The venue's events team worked with Arup's event agency Business Pursuits for months to create the annual company fun day. Entertainment included birds of prey shows, jousting, a fire-eater and wandering minstrels.

Peter Kerwood, event sales and marketing manager of castle owners Merlin, said: "This year has seen an increasing number of companies choosing to 'buy out' a venue or attraction in order to add the wow factor to their corporate events programme."
