The week-long event has been organised by the team behind the annual RumFest event. It will feature a series of tastings, masterclasses, parties, music and fine dining experiences at various venues across the capital.
Appleton Estate Rum will host its session at The Shard on 13 October, and will invite rum fans to join in on the action through Twitter, with special packs to be sent out to participants before the event. More than 400 rum enthusiasts will have the chance to take part in the #AppletonLive event, with global rum ambassador Ian Burrell and Appleton Estate's senior blender, David Morrison, to host the tasting.
Elsewhere during the week Rococo Chocolate will be hosting chocolate and rum pairing sessions, while Matugga Rum will be hosting a rum appreciation masterclass with rum expert Peter Holland from TheFloatingRumShack.com, at the Matugga Rum Lounge at Library, on St Martin’s Lane.
Other brands taking part in the event include Barcadi, Lamb’s Navy Rum, Diplomatico and Havana Club.
Lamb’s Navy Rum will kick off the week with ticketholders able to sample the first limited edition batch of its single cask in one of Alfred Lamb’s old stores, under the Thames at Voltaire, which will be followed by the official launch party for the week.
Havana Club will be hosting tastings with the team from the Cuban Distillery, educating guests on the range, heritage and culture of the brand.
Rum Experience Week will then lead into the annual RumFest event from 17-18 October.
