The multi-million pound deal will see the firm feed approximately 100,000 people per day for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Amadeus will supply all public, staff and hospitality catering services within the Olympic Park North, including the Velodrome, Basketball Arena, Hockey Arena, BMX Circuit, Eton Manor and Handball Arena.

"We are delighted that Amadeus, The NEC Group’s catering business, has been selected from several thousand applicants to be the contract caterers to the 2012 London Olympics with a multi million pound contract value," said Amadeus project operations director Andrew Taylor.

Guests in the on-site restaurants can expect a menu including dishes such as citrus cured organic salmon, lime and black peppercorn mascarpone and toasted sour dough; gilt headed sea bream, brown shrimp and caper risotto, roquette and basil pesto; and treacle tart, Jersey clotted cream ice cream, honey custard and raspberry compote.

As well as catering at the NEC, NIA, LG Arena and ICC Amadeus also holds contracts at venues including Kenilworth Castle and Compton Verney and has catered for major sporting events including the Scottish Open.

More than 14 million ‘best of British' meals are expected to be served during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, across 40 different locations.
