The 1,000sqm space is part of the north London venue’s long-term strategy to reposition itself as a major exhibition venue and attract new shows (Marketing Event, April). Alexandra Palace head of sales and marketing Chris Gothard said: “To make a venue of this size successful we need a greater emphasis on trade shows and consumer events. Over the past ten years or so that plot has been lost somewhat and now we need to refocus and send a strong message to exhibition organisers that Alexandra Palace is here.”
