Agency Iris reports 12% rise in profit

Agency Iris has posted gross profits of £62.7m for 2015 - a 12% increase from £56m in 2014.

Iris's operating profit grew to £6.2m, and turnover was £90.7m, compared to £93m in 2014.

In early 2015, Iris was appointed as the lead creative agency for Wickes and won accounts with PZ Cussons, Purdey’s, Virgin Active, Maplin and BMW. It expanded existing relationships with Samsung, Britvic, Value Retail and Domino’s.

Iris also opened an office in Seoul, South Korea, and acquired a majority stake in creative agency Founded, which launched in 2012.

Dan Saxby, CEO of Iris UK, told Event: "2015 was Iris’ best year to date. A combination of factors were behind our growth – maturing overseas offices; the international expansion of high margin businesses such as Iris Concise, our CRM, data and consulting business; and the payback from significant investments in content, B2B and sports marketing. 2015 was our first full year of working with Samsung, expanding our relationship with them to new markets and disciplines – including the European PR remit." 

Saxby added: "We have seen real growth in client’s appetite for authentic live experiences as an essential building block for successful participation brands. In the last year, we have seen strong growth in PR and experiential led by our focus on participation and how we integrate these channels seamlessly with digital and social activation – for the likes of Adidas and Speedo. Our work with influencers has also been a key growth area and has resulted in one of our most successful campaigns of this year, with Idris Elba and Purdey’s Thrive On."
