The first Absolute Radio Comedy Live gig will debut at The Y in Leicester on Tuesday 15 February as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival.

The line-up will include Peep Show’s Isy Suttie, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2010 Josh Widdicombe, Mock the Week regular Carl Donnelly, and headliner Brendan Burns.

The monthly events will bolster Absolute Radio’s existing comedy programming, which includes weekly shows from Frank Skinner, Dave Gorman and Iain Lee, as well as Podcasts from Lee Mack, Rhod Gilbert, Mark Watson, Bill Bailey and Harry Hill.

"Comedy is an integral part of our brand strategy It has joined music and football as our third brand pillar," said Absolute Radio’s chief operating officer Clive Dickens.

"Live comedy is truly in the nation’s hearts – who’d have thought that comedians would be selling out arena tours and The O2?"

Absolute Radio Comedy Live will be curated by award winning Absolute Radio DJ and comedian Max Dickins.
