Wilson, previously a freelance digital consultant, has worked with clients including Sharp Europe, Nivea and Lloyds TSB.
His new role will see him overseeing all of the agency’s digital output, from strategy and creative to production.
Paul Saville, joint managing director at Ignite, said: "Digital is becoming an increasingly important part of Ignite’s offering. This year in particular we’ve managed some huge experiences for clients with a significant emphasis on digital and social media integration."
The digital division will continue to explore and make use of emerging digital technologies such as NFC and audio watermarking, as well as offering an enhanced social media service.
Wilson will report into Ignite’s joint managing directors, Cris Cicirello and Paul Saville.
Ignite was recently crowned brand experience agency of the year at the Event Awards for the second consecutive year.
