Event technology provider IML Worldwide has appointed Merion Trask as director of its Asia operations.

Trask will be based in Hong Kong and will play a "significant role" in IML’s growth in new and existing markets, according to the company’s CEO Richard Fisher.

Trask has been with IML for 17 years, most recently managing its global support network across its range of its event technology products.

Over the past ten years he has also been responsible for launching IML’s Electronic Shareholder Meetings Services in Asia, Europe, Australia, and Canada.

Fisher said: "Merion is already known to many of our large Asian clients, having been with the company for many years and taking responsibility for our international delivery. He has run and managed thousands of events, giving him experience and exposure all over the world. In this new role he will play a significant role in both IML Worldwide’s global development and our growth in new and existing markets."

In July, IML announced its move into Latin America through joining forces with Peru-based Stringnet Multimedia System.

IML’s technology products, such as tablets and auction bidding devices, engage with over half a million people at more than 2,500 events a year. It is owned by Computershare and operates 12 global offices.
