The first fashion week for children will launch at London's Freemason's Hall this spring, organised by production agency Marmalade London.

Global Kids Fashion Week will be a two-day event from 19 - 20 March, showcasing designer children’s fashion from labels like Paul Smith Junior, Junior Gaultier and Little Marc Jacobs.

Two fashion shows will be accompanied by play activities for children and parents, in collaboration with event partner the V&A Museum of Childhood.

A media preview will showcase children’s fashion trends for the autumn and winter 2013 season, with clothes from world-renowned designers and emerging names including Rachel Riley, Finger in the Nose and Munster Kids.

The public show on 20 March will then see models wearing spring and summer 2013 looks from kids fashion website AlexandAlexa, which is sponsoring the event. Proceeds from ticket sales for the public show will be donated to charity Kids Company.

Alex Theophanous, founder of AlexandAlexa says: "Kids' fashion is playful, fun and innovative - we all believe it deserves its own dedicated platform.

"This is why we are so proud to be supporting the very first Global Kids' Fashion Week. With this event, we aim to put children's fashion on the map worldwide."
