Chris Evans launches CarFest North

Radio presenter Chris Evans has launched a northern version of his new car festival in Cheshire, after the first event sold out within hours.

CarFest North will take place on 8-9 September at Cholmondeley Castle and will be run by Brand Events.

It will be held two weeks after the original CarFest – now re-branded CarFest South – and will also combine cars, music and food.

As reported in Event, petrolhead Evans said the event is his idea of "the perfect family festival".

CarFest North’s website said: "Chris Evans gave up bread for lent and to keep himself away from the bread bin he invented CarFest! Then this sold out very quickly and he invented CarFest North!"

Details for the new festival not yet been finalised but the it will include the main elements of the original festival.

There will be two car auctions of classic cars, a hill climb of ‘Magnificent Sevens’ supercars and a ‘Cakes v Pies’ baking competition. The music offering will be headlined by the same acts as CarFest South - Texas and Razorlight.
